The 31-year-old joins having last played for the Saddlers in League One, making for a drop through four tiers of football.

Having departed the Banks's Stadium following Walsall's relegation to League Two, Osbourne will now ply his trade against the likes of Rushall Olympic, Hednesford Town and Stourbridge.

Nuneaton Borough boss Jim Ginnelly was delighted to secure the shock signing, with former Villa striker Stefan Moore playing a part in securing the deal.

"He’s [Osbourne's] a very fit lad and I’m delighted he’s picked us to come and enjoy his football.” Ginnelly said.

"He told me all he wants to do is enjoy his football and I convinced him that here at Nuneaton we will put a smile on his face and hopefully he’ll be putting a bigger smile on Boro fans faces.

"When players of this calibre are available you have to move quickly.

"I’d like to thank a good mate of mine in football Stefan Moore for pointing ‘Ozzy’ in my direction here at the Boro."
