The victory was only Lye’s second of the season and a welcome three points for the Flyers, who had lost four on the bounce before Saturday’s game.

Lye striker Dominic Dell got the first in the opening 10 minutes, however Gresley’s Nehemia Zazi soon levelled the scores.

Samuel Prince put Lye back ahead before substitute Alexandra Ologli sealed the win in stoppage time.

Elsewhere in the division, Sporting Khalsa occupy top spot after recording a third league win in a row with a 2-0 victory away at Racing Club Warwick.

Sporting forward Josh McKenzie scored one in each half to secure the win for the league leaders, who have yet to taste defeat in nine league outings and have conceded just six goals in the process.

Meanwhile, Tividale saw victory snatched away from them in a dramatic finish at Selston.

Substitute Daniel Smith looked to have secured the win for Tivi when he headed home in the 86th minute.

But the hosts then hit back in stoppage time to rescue a point.

Walsall Wood were also forced to share the spoils in a 1-1 draw at home to Highgate United.

Wood striker Mitchell Tolley fired the home side in front, but Ryan Coley equalised for the visitors late in the first half.

In Midland One, table-toppers Brocton won 2-1 at home to Paget Rangers.

Regan Smith and Connor Haddaway had Brocton 2-0 to the good at half-time.

Paget’s Dan Carter scored on 90 minutes to set up a nervous finale, but the Badgers held out for the win.

Elsewhere, Heath Hayes grabbed a last-gasp winner to inflict a 2-1 home defeat on NKF Burbage.

With the scoreline at 1-1, the game looked to be heading for a draw. But then the ball dropped to Hayes’ Matthew Allport, who smashed the ball home to snatch all three points.
