Aston Villa and Walsall duo nominated for goal of the month honours
Alan Hutton's derby day strike against local rivals Birmingham City has been nominated for the Sky Bet Championship Goal of the Month award for November - whilst Walsall's Josh Ginnelly is in the running for the League One honour.
Aston Villa defender Hutton memorably picked up the ball ten yards into his own half in the crunch clash against Blues, before embarking on a stunning run, culminating in a precise left-footed finish to secure all three points for his side in the 4-2 win last month.
The goal was jokingly compared with Maradona's historic goal against England in the 1986 World Cup on social media, and will live in the memory as one of the greatest goals ever scored in the Second City Derby.
He's up for the award alongside Villa fan and former Kidderminster Harriers forward Joe Lolley, whose long-range effort in the chaotic 5-5 draw between the Midlanders and Nottingham Forest has also been nominated.
Barrie McKay rounds off the nominations for the Championship award with his strike against Bolton for Swansea.
Meanwhile, Ginnelly's 20-yard thunderbolt against Sunderland in Walsall's 2-2 draw with Sunderland is in the running for the League One Goal of the Month award.
The winger struck just ahead of the hour mark with a stunning effort after cutting in from the left flank - doubling the Saddlers' lead before a spirited comeback from the Black Cats.
He's up against Doncaster's Ali Crawford and Peterborough's Marcus Maddison for his award.
Voting is open for fans now via the Sky Sports website, with the poll closing on Monday December 17 - the winners will be announced on Friday December 21.
