Steve Bull: Pundits finally praising Wolves

Some pundits have even said we look the best team ever to have been promoted to the Premier League – which just shows how strong our team is under Nuno. Imagine what they will be saying in two years’ time? Fingers crossed, we will only get better.

In our first six games, we have shown we are no walkovers in the top flight.

No other team have taken points from the Manchester set so far.

We are here to have a good go – we don’t care who you throw at us.

We played superbly against Manchester United. There was 14 of us watching the game in a bar in Miami and we were all on and off our seats.

We took the game to the Red Devils and they took the game to us. Moutinho’s goal was an absolute classic with the way he curled the ball into the top left corner. We were all out of our seats thinking that is an unbelievable goal. It sounded like a great atmosphere.

Moutinho is a superb player and him and Neves compliment each other all day long in the middle of the park. Getting him for £5million was a snip to be fair. Mr Mendes is getting all these players and he knows his football. All I say is keep fetching them.

Our strong start this season just shows how far we have come over the past two years. We built up the base under Steve Morgan and now we are starting to build on the foundations.

Against Leicester City in the cup, I thought the performance was decent to be fair.

If that is our second string team then we have got a good balance of players that can come off the bench. It shows the strength of our squad and that we have got a really good fighting chance in the Premier League.

Rotating the squad gave the first team players a chance for a rest.

The Premier League is very daunting, very testing and demanding, and you always need a rest. I know players want to play every game but you need Premier League survival is our main priority for this year.

We all love a good cup run. I have been to Wembley and it is one of those big occasions.

I think if we were in the Championship, then I would have been absolutely gutted after being knocked out – but the Premier League is the biggest prize now. That said, I thought the players stepped up the plate.

It is good to see the youngsters given a chance on the pitch. Even the fringe players would have bee raring to step up to the podium. They didn’t get across the finishing line but it gave them a taste of Premier League opposition.

Southampton will be a very tricky game on Saturday. We can’t take any game lightly in the Premier League.

At home we have got to make Molineux a fortress.

I think Southampton will finish bottom half of the table and they are one of these teams we have got to beat.
