Wolves, Walsall and West Brom learn Checkatrade Trophy opponents
Wolves, Albion and Walsall all learnt their Checkatrade Trophy fate after the draw for the group stage was completed today.
All 48 League One and League Two clubs were drawn into 16 groups earlier this month.
But the 16 invited clubs from the Premier League and Championship – who will all field under-21 sides – were added in this afternoon.
Wolves have been drawn in Group H and will take on Scunthorpe, Lincoln and Mansfield.
Albion, who are in Group C, will face Accrington, Blackpool and Macclesfield.
While Walsall – who reached the final of the competition in 2015 – have been placed in Group E alongside Burton, Port Vale and Middlesbrough.
Arsenal, Chelsea, Tottenham and Manchester City are among those to enter teams into the competition this year.
