West Brom fans taunt Aston Villa with banner
A banner that appears to have been made by Albion fans taunting rivals Aston Villa has been flown at Villa Park.
The banner reads “TICK TOCK AVFC HAHAHA FROM WBA – SOTV”, and appears to be written in blue spray paint on white bedsheets.
An image of it being hung at Villa Park has been shared on Twitter.
Villa are in financial crisis following their play-off final defeat to Fulham.
The club, which is one of the founding members of the Football League alongside the Baggies, has been threatened with a winding-up order by HMRC after failing to make a tax payment.
Chief executive Keith Wyness has been suspended after clashing with owner Tony Xia, who himself is unable to withdraw funds from China to sort out the mess.
There is a very real threat of the club falling into administration, and they will be forced to sell many of their top players this summer.
