Transfer Rumours - July 10th
Expressandstar.com brings you all of the latest transfer talk from Wolves, West Brom, Aston Villa and Walsall.
We're not saying that they're true, just that they're out there.
Wolves
Wolves have reportedly joined the race for in-demand Southampton striker Sam Gallagher.
The 21-year-old spent last season on-loan at Blackburn, impressing with his performances despite their struggles and signed a new long-term deal at St. Mary's recently.
A loan deal will be on the cards should he look to leave temporarily, with Birmingham City also supposedly keen.
Former Wolves defender Mike Williamson could be set for a move to Oxford United.
The former Newcastle man was released by Wolves following an injury hit tenure at Molineux, and is now training with the League One side.
The U's have included the centre-back in their pre-season trip to Portugal - and could be set for a permanent deal if he impresses.
West Brom
Tony Pulis should consider a move for West Ham forward Andre Ayew.
The Hammers man has struggled with injury since his move from Swansea, and could see a change of scenery as a way of restarting his Premier League career.
West Brom would have to shell out a pricey fee for the Ghanaian - who only headed to the London Stadium last summer in a £20m deal.
Meanwhile, Premier League clubs could be eyeing the situation regarding Nacer Chadli this summer.
The Belgian star hasn't travelled with Albion to Austria, after asking Pulis to let him undertake his own training regime. He will travel with West Brom to Hong Kong for the Premier League Asia Trophy though.
Stoke City, Swansea and an unlikely return to Spurs have all been linked.
Aston Villa
Steve Bruce is facing new competition from Burnley for the signing of Glenn Whelan.
The midfielder is one of Villa's prime targets this summer, having already had a £500,000 bid rejected by the Potters.
However, Sean Dyche is now reportedly keen on coming in for the veteran, who is expected to cost £1m.
Also, Villa are being linked with a shock move for Peter Crouch.
Bruce is the favourite to sign the 36-year-old, who previously played for the club in the early noughties.
The 6ft 7in forward has been at the Bet365 Stadium since 2011, scoring 40 times in over 170 appearances.
Walsall
Walsall could send out some youngsters on loan to Tamworth this season.
Lambs manager Andy Morrell visited Walsall last week to discuss a link between the clubs, which could see Saddlers youngsters make the short trip east.
Morrell took a look at some potential signings during his trip to Essington - and deals could be sorted throughout the summer.
