Transfer Rumours - June 12th
Expressandstar.com brings you all of the latest transfer talk from Wolves, West Brom, Aston Villa and Walsall.
We're not saying they're true, just that they're out there.
Wolves
Wolves are reportedly set to do battle for the signature of Blackburn Rovers winger, Conor Mahoney.
The 20-year-old, who plays from the right, made 14 appearances in the Championship last season, racking up three assists.
Rovers' drop into League One means a departure could be likely - with Nottingham Forest and Celtic also thought to be keen.
Meanwhile, Nuno Espirito Santo could take on Aston Villa for the signing of Burton midfielder, Jackson Irvine.
The Australian international scored ten times last season in 42 appearances.
Often deployed in a defensive role, Villa are keen to bring him in to assist Mile Jedinak, so Wolves may have to stump up some extra cash to secure his services.
West Brom
Albion are being linked with a move for former Wolves striker and Scotland international, Leigh Griffiths.
The Celtic forward is seen by Pulis as good competition for Salomon Rondon and Hal Robson-Kanu - and his two goals against England won't have hurt his chances at bagging a big money move.
Newcastle are also linked with the forward, who's thought to command a price of £6m.
West Brom are second favourites to sign Arsenal striker, Olivier Giroud.
It's thought that the Frenchman could be moved on this summer should Arsene Wenger sign Alexandre Lacazette and Kylian Mbappe.
West Ham are favourites to secure the big forward's services, with West Brom closely behind the Hammers in the race for the £20m-rated striker.
Aston Villa
Steve Bruce's men are second favourites to bring in Chelsea legend, John Terry.
The former England captain was pictures alongside Steve Bruce playing golf last week - and odds on his arrival at Villa Park have been slashed to 9/2 since.
Bournemouth are still the favourites to bag the 36-year-old, whilst West Brom have also been linked.
SPAL have emerged as new suitors for Villa goalkeeper, Pierluigi Gollini.
The recently promoted Serie A outfit are apparently keen on the Italian youngster - who's been playing for Atalanta on-loan from B6.
A return to Villa Park is unlikely under Steve Bruce, who is still keen on bringing in Sam Johnstone between the sticks.
Walsall
Jon Whitney will push for a breakthrough this week as he aims to kick-start Walsall’s summer transfer dealings.
Finding a new No.1 is a top priority and goalkeeping coach Neil Cutler was tasked with drawing up a shortlist which is thought to include Reading’s Jonathan Bond and Jon McLaughlin, following the latter’s release by Burton Albion last month.
Whitney will in the meantime press ahead with plans to sign a centre-back and full-back who have both verbally agreed to join.
