Transfer Rumours - June 5th
Expressandstar.com brings you all of the latest transfer talk from Wolves, West Brom, Aston Villa and Walsall.
We're not saying they're true, just that they're out there.
Wolves
Wolves are set to miss out on the signing of Croatian attacking midfielder, Filip Krovinovic.
The 21-year-old, who plays for Rio Ave, has scored five goals this season as well as bagging three assists, and was reportedly subject of a bid of £2.6m from Wolves.
However, it seems that Nuno Espirito Santo could miss out on the forward thinking midfielder - with Benfica close to sealing a deal for the Croat.
Meanwhile, a move to Molineux could be on the cards for Sunderland defender, John O'Shea.
The Irish international is out of contract this summer following the Black Cats' relegation, and his future at the club is in question following David Moyes' departure.
The 36-year-old is supposedly keen to stay at the Stadium of Light, but only if he gets reassurances that he'll play regularly, as he seeks a spot in his nation's World Cup squad - should they qualify for the tournament.
Also, Wolves winger Helder Costa is being eyed up by Premier League big-boys Chelsea and Arsenal.
The Portuguese star was Wolves' stand out performer last season, and the club are braced for plenty of interest in him over the summer.
However, it seems both London clubs could test Wolves' resolve with bids of around £20m being considered.
Laurie Dalrymple previously refused to rule out the possibility of the star departing should the right offer come in for him.
West Brom
West Brom are ready to make a move for Arsenal left-back, Kieran Gibbs - according to reports.
The 27-year-old has seemingly failed to cement his place at the Emirates, and with the impending arrival of Sead Kolasinac, could be allowed to depart over the summer.
West Brom's interest is likely to depend on the chances of avoiding a tribunal for Leeds left-back, Charlie Taylor - with Pulis hoping to dodge an unexpectedly high price for the defender.
Also, Tony Pulis is thought to be keen on Liverpool defender Mamadou Sakho.
The defender was carted out on-loan to Crystal Palace last season, and Albion are reportedly keen on bringing him to the Hawthorns if the price is right.
Palace are also eager to bring him in, but Liverpool's £30m price tag is though to be too high for both sides.
On top of that, Hull City midfielder, Sam Clucas is thought to be of interest to Albion.
The midfielder could prove a capable replacement for Darren Fletcher following his move to Stoke.
It's thought that a £10m bid could prove enough to bring in the former Leicester City trainee.
Aston Villa
Aston Villa could beat a number of Premier League clubs to the signing of Abdoulaye Sissako.
The 19-year-old Auxerre midfielder is highly rated, and also plies his trade for the French U19s.
Steve Bruce is thought to have sent Villa scouts to watch the defensive midfielder at the Toulon Tournament and the club are now favourites to bring him to the UK.
Also, another midfielder in Villa's sights is Stoke City veteran, Glenn Whelan.
The 33-year-old is reportedly set to leave the Bet 365 Stadium following Darren Fletcher's arrival, and could do battle with Burnley for his signature.
The Irishman played 31 times last season - and Villa are keen to add him to their squad to assist in a push for promotion next term.
Finally, Atalanta are set to make a call on the permanent signing of Pierluigi Gollini.
The goalkeeper was brought in under Roberto Di Matteo but was shipped out under Steve Bruce to the Italian side.
The youngster has hardly featured in Serie A since heading to the club, but the side could still sign him permanently if they see fit.
Walsall
Walsall could bring back stand out loan performers Eoghan O'Connell and Jason McCarthy.
Jon Whitney has claimed he wants both players to come back to the Banks's - although the club could face tough competition for them.
Both players impressed in their loan spells at the Saddlers, with Jason McCarthy claiming the Player of the Season award.
Meanwhile, Reading goalkeeper Jonathan Bond could prove a replacement candidate for Neil Etheridge.
The former Watford stopper spent a potion of last season on-loan at Gillingham, securing a single clean sheet in seven league appearances.
Etheridge confirmed his departure from the Banks's at the end of the season, as he's set to join Cardiff when his contract expires.
