PDC's Wayne Jones has it tough in Germany
Wolverhampton's Wayne Jones was put out in the third round by title winner Gary Anderson in the weekend's Professional Darts Corporation German Championship.
'The Wanderer' bowed out after putting up a fight against the on-fire 'Flying Scotsman,' who hit a 161 finish to set up his victory on Sunday afternoon.
The pair shared the opening four legs before Anderson made his move, taking the fifth with the aid of a 180 before defying a maximum reply from Jones.
Anderson broke Jones' through in the next for a 4-2 lead but the Wednesfield darter broke back, punishing two missed darts at tops from the Scot.
Jones hit another 180 as he levelled, but Anderson found another gear with 161 for a 12-darter to move 5-4 up and then finishing the next leg in 14 to seal the win.
Jones had beat World Championship finalist Peter Wright 6-4 in the second round after seeing off Tomas Seyler 6-3, on Friday and Saturday respectively, in Hildesheim.
