PDC star Steve Brown will be opening the eighth of his darts academies in Cannock later starting with an open day later this month.

'The Bomber' and Rugeley's Mark Hylton will put on an exhibition for budding students at Rileys Sports Bar, High Green, on October 24.

Both have excelled in the darts world with Brown, from Bristol, reaching the last 16 of the World Matchplay and World Grand Prix in 2o10.

'Mile High' Hylton - a former airline cabin crew manager - was in the last 16 of the World Championship and the quarter-finals of the UK Open in 2011.

They will be on hand as aspiring darters sign up to Brown's academy, where they will be trained on on eight-week basis with a grading after each session.

Their level of apititude will be judged by the colour of the darts shirts they will be awarded, from white straight to black - like a traditional martial arts belt.

For more information on the open day and how to join the academy, call Rileys on 01543 504 220.
