With just three games remaining, the two sides sit first and second in Group Two, but will play each other in the final round of fixtures.

Walsall also remain in the hunt to finish top and currently sit joint second, level on points with Smethwick.

It is Dartmouth, though, who currently lead the way by four points after they secured a comfortable 77-run win over Pelsall at Sandwell Park on Saturday.

After losing the toss, Ian Stevenson’s side piled up 286-4 from 40 overs.

An opening stand of 167 between Ishmail Mohammed (63) and Omar Ali (98) was dominated by Ali, who hit seven fours and five sixes.

Former Hampshire, Lancashire and Worcestershire all-rounder Kabir Ali then clattered an unbeaten 60 from 40 balls to pile the pressure on Pelsall.

And in reply, they could only manage 209-4 from their allocation.

The highlight of their innings was a fourth-wicket stand of 140 between Todd Henderson (77) and Alex Jones (68no) with Omar Ali and Kabir Ali sharing the four Pelsall wickets between them.

Smethwick are hot on Dartmouth’s heels, though.

Oliver Westbury’s side earned a comfortable seven-wicket home win against Himley on Saturday after the visitors decided to bat first.

Opening batsman James Lunn scored 36 for Himley, but nobody else scored more than 15 as Hamza Ahmed took 3-20 for Smethwick.

Sajid Ahmedzai, Karamjot Singh and Naseer Ahmed chipped in with two wickets apiece as Himley struggled to 116 all out in 38.5 overs.

Despite the early loss of the in-form Omar Masood without scoring, Smethwick strolled to victory, thanks to a second-wicket stand of 86 between Hasnain Mahmood (63no) and Hamza Ahmed (37).

Walsall, who play Dartmouth next week, secured a 21 run win over Harborne via DLS.

They remain in contention, level on 20 points with Smethwick, after closing on 210-5 from 40 overs against Harborne.

Harborne had scored 166-8 from 34.3 overs when the umpires declared conditions were unfit for any more play – the DLS par score giving them a total of 187.

Amit John (68), Rafay Ahmed (46) and Billy-J Cox (40no) were the leading batsmen for Walsall.

Tejas Wagle was the top scorer for Harborne.

In Group One, Wolverhampton remain in title contention after they beat Bridgnorth – who had sat top of the table.

After losing the toss and being invited to bat first, Bridgnorth were dismissed for 125 in 39.3 overs.

Wolverhampton lost opening batsman Jack Stanley with the score on 20 before Rahul Kaushal (52) and Tom Fell (43) took the score to 111.

They were both dismissed in quick succession and Wolverhampton lost three more wickets before they clinched their victory.
