Laeq Chishti’s side made it five wins from five with an eight-wicket victory at Pillaton.

But they aren’t the only team in the division still boasting a 100 per cent record with Millford Hall making it six from six by beating Tamworth.

Beacon have also got eyes on the title after they made it back-to-back wins with victory over rock-bottom Hammerwich.

It was Penkridge, though, who secured the most emphatic win of the weekend with Wolves ruthlessly swept aside following a revised target.

After being put in to bat, a fantastic 103 from Simon Lycett together with a clever 61 from Ramanjot Jaswal helped Wolverhampton to finish on 226-4 from 40 overs.

Aqab Ahmed and Attiq Chishti both took two wickets for Penkridge who headed to the crease needing 210 from 35 overs to claim victory.

Ishaq Mohammed (86), Mohammed Ishtiaq (33), Rana Hassan (36no) and Attiq Chishti (35no) did the damage to see their side ease to an eight-wicket win.

While that result kept Penkridge second in the table, Milford Hall remain top following their four-wicket success over third-placed Tamworth.

Stuart Burrows (69) and Aaron Tomson (36) top-scored for Tamworth, who finished on 198 all out from 38.4 overs.

Stuart Phazey (2-19) posted the best bowling figures for Milford, who were set a revised target of 122 off 20 overs which they reached with four wickets and one ball to spare.

Useful contributions came from James Davis (22), Ibbadat Thaman (20) and Sahal Malvernkar (31), but it needed a quick-fire 18 not out from Ejaz Nawaz to see Milford over the line.

Beacon moved up to fourth in the table after sweeping aside Hammerwich at Trysull Road.

The home side won the toss and elected to bat, with James Fildes (30) and Jake Cartwright (26) top scoring as they finished on 136 all out.

But Hammerwich struggled to get near them in reply with Ranvir Singh (15) and Matthew Deyzel (12) the only players to hit double figures as they were dismissed for just 84 runs in 28.5 overs.

James Fildes shone with the ball for Beacon, taking four wickets for just 14 runs. Oliver Green (3-19) and Matthew Cartwright (2-19) also impressed.

Lichfield beat Old Wulfrunians Tettenhall by 80 runs at Collins Hill.

A knock of 71 from Adam Braddock together with a half-century 53 not out from Callum Heanan inspired the hosts to 228-6 from 40 overs.

In reply, Old Wulfs fell to 141 all out with Lichfield’s James Wilkinson (4-27) doing most of the damage with the ball.

Brewood won at Wombourne after clocking up a score of 176-9 from 40 overs.

Wombourne were set a revised target of 166 from 36 overs – but were dismissed for just 121.

Meanwhile, in the North Staffs & South Cheshire League, Stafford fell to defeat at Caverswall.
