Staffs set up set up a four-day championship decider against Western Division winners Berkshire from September 15 at Banbury Cricket Club with victory at Longton.

And West Bromwich Dartmouth skipper Ali was thrilled to get there.

“What a great game,” he said. “Credit to Norfolk, I thought they were outstanding.

“After day one we were on top, but they came back strongly on day two and really put us under pressure,” he said.

“We had to fight really hard today. But credit to the boys, especially Matt Morris in both innings and Manraj (Johal), who is just 17.

“We were struggling a bit with injuries and unavailability but he came in for his debut and bowled superbly.”
