Sam Hain leads Warwickshire Bears to triumph over rivals
Sam Hain achieved his highest List A score as Warwickshire overcame Worcestershire Rapids by 34 runs at New Road to register their first win in this summer’s Royal London One-Day Cup.
Hain confirmed his reputation as one of the most prolific batsmen in the 50 over format as the Bears totalled 315-5.
The 23-year-old completed his 10th century in just 54 innings and went on to score an unbeaten 161.
Skipper Jeetan Patel was the driving force behind a spectacular Worcestershire collapse from 86-0 to 145-7. Tom Fell and Wayne Parnell led a partial recovery with half-centuries before Worcestershire were bowled out for 281 in 47.2 overs.
It was their second defeat in the tournament although they remain in strong contention for a place in the knockout stages.
