Moeen Ali: I haven't considered future yet
England and Worcestershire star Moeen Ali claims he has given little consideration to his county future after being linked with a move back to Warwickshire.
Moeen is out of contract at the end of the season and Warwickshire are thought to be planning a move which would see the all-rounder return to Edgbaston, where he began his professional career.
Hampshire and Middlesex are also thought to be keeping tabs on the situation but Warwickshire are hopeful of pulling off a deal, with the 29-year-old still living in Birmingham, just a couple of miles from the ground.
When asked about the speculation, Moeen admitted interest from other counties was 'flattering' but made clear it was not at the forefront of his mind.
He replied: "It's very nice there are other counties wanting to sign me, especially a big one like Warwickshire. It's where I started playing my cricket and is only down the road.
"There are a lot of positives but if I am being honest, I have not really given it much thought.
"It was only recently I realised I was in the last year of my contract. It's been the last thing on my mind.
"I love Worcestershire and I have enjoyed playing there. It's a great place and they have been very good to me."
Potential suitors will be able to put in 28 days notice to speak to Moeen from the beginning of next week. Worcestershire will be able to make an offer to stay during that period.
Moeen, who has also played Birmingham League cricket for West Bromwich Dartmouth and Wolverhampton, left Edgbaston in 2006 to join Worcestershire after growing frustrated at a lack of first-team opportunities.
