Wolverhampton back top of the Premier
Wolverhampton took over at the top of the Birmingham & District League Premier Division after extending their unbeaten start with a four-wicket victory.
On a difficult day for the batsmen, the hosts posted a respectable 198 all out at Knowle & Dorridge.
Zen Malik was the most successful bowler for Wolverhampton, finishing with 5-53.
But a polished unbeaten 78 from Wasim Jaffer steered his side to victory and a six-point lead over Berkswell at the top of the table.
West Bromwich Dartmouth were on the wrong end of the most surprising result of the day as they fell to defeat against Walmley.
Having been set a target of 240, Dartmouth were dismissed for 164. Kabir Ali took 4-34 for Dartmouth but apart from cousin Kadeer Ali (56), the batting line-up failed to shine.
Walsall's final total of 187 all out against Kidderminster represented a fine recovery, after they had slumped to 67-7 at Chester Road.
Both Steven Plant and Paul Byrne grabbed 37 runs apiece with the hosts helping with a generous 36 extras. But it wasn't enough to stop Kidderminster from securing the victory.
Former Worcestershire man Liam Weston took 3-37 and Connor Smith took 2-44, but it was their efforts with the bat that swung the game in Kidderminster's favour.
Coming together at 90-4, after Jonathan Wright had scored 51, Weston finished unbeaten on 57 with Smith joining him on 44 not out as the home side cantered home.
Smethwick stretched their lead at the top of Division One to six points following a 24-point win at Bridgnorth.
Qasim Shah (3-38) and Naqaash Tahir (3-55) impressed with the ball, as the Shropshire side finished on 191.
After the loss of two early wickets, Smethwick strode to a comfortable win after Amitoze Singh (83 not out) and Vikram Sodhi (71) put on 122 for the third.
The Himley versus Sutton Coldfield game was reduced to 54 overs due to a grass fire in a nearby field.
Once underway, the home side put on a clinical performance, grinding their way to an eight-wicket win.
Disciplined bowling from Jamie Turner (4-24) and Ryan Brown (3-34) saw Sutton finish 135 all out.
Chris Boroughs (34 not out) and Chad Brandrick (29 not out) led Himley's reply.
Second-bottom Old Hill fell to a five-wicket defeat at Brockhampton in a match reduced to 28 overs per side.
In Division Two, the match between Stourbridge and Shifnal was low-scoring with the hosts dismissed for 87.
But Shifnal also struggled and hit their target with two wickets to spare.
The clashes between Cannock & Rugeley Hawks and Wombourne and Halesowen and Stratford-upon-Avon were abandoned. Penkridge lost at Old Elizabethans.
In Division Three, leaders Streetly were 47-run victors over rivals Aston Manor who were bowled out for 180.
Niall Cooper (63) and Daniel Williams (33 not out) saw Fordhouses to 166 against Brewood, who stumbled to 91 all out. Struggling Lichfield lost at Astwood Bank.
