The Sandwell Park side, who host Berkswell this Saturday, need just two points from their last two games,

writes Tim Nash.

It would clinch their first top-flight title since the league was re-formed in 1998. Berkswell went second after a six-wicket victory against Himley, who were relegated.

Walsall will accompany Himley unless they win their last two games and Walmley fail to pick up eight bonus points from their final two matches.

Dartmouth made 219-6 after an unbeaten 73 from Zeeshan Asif and Kadeer Ali's 53. Barnt Green were dismissed for 91, thanks to Kadeer Ali's 4-21 and 3-10 from Aqsad Ali.

Dartmouth will be champions for the first time in 22 years and club spokesman Mick Corcoran paid tribute to captain Kadeer Ali after revealing celebrations were already under way.

He said: "We had a drink or two on Saturday night. Tremendous credit goes to Kadeer, we are very pleased for him and for the rest of the boys, but I think Kadeer has been the main driver.

"I couldn't speak highly enough of him. It's difficult to pick people out, but our slow left-arm bowler Aqsad Ali has bowled and batted well.

"We expected to compete this year, but to think we're going to win was maybe a step too far because we've got a lot of young lads in the side."

Nathan Round (59), Greg Wright (49), Ollie Westbury (31) and Sergio Fedee (30 not out) all got going for Himley, but an astonishing collapse saw them fold from 162-2 to 183 all out as 15-year-old Muhammad Ahmed took 6-26.

Berkswell cantered to victory with over eight overs to spare.

Walsall lost to Dorridge (227 all out) by 35 runs. At 107-6 the result looked a formality, but Paul Wicker hit a defiant 42. Once he fell, Walsall slid to 192 all out.

Kidderminster Victoria removed any lingering fears of relegation with an eight-wicket win over Brockhampton who crumbled to 133 all out with seamer Gareth Williams taking 5-36.

Matt Pardoe fell first ball, but Michael Hill (68 not out) and Richard Kimberlin (47) put on 127 for the second wicket to set up the win.

Wolverhampton beat Old Hill by 110 runs in a high scoring affair at Haden Hill to go second in Division One.

Wasim Jaffer smashed 165 not out as Wolves piled up 353-6, to which Old Hill replied with 243-7, skipper Danny Cox top-scoring with 40.

Bottom club Wombourne were dismissed for 83 in losing to Bromsgrove by 80 runs.

Jayden Levitt hit 49 for Bromsgrove with Wombourne's Ashfak Hussein taking 4-37 before spinners Ash Newdick (4-11) and James Ganderton (3-17) combined to leave Wombourne well beaten.

Smethwick were given a scare before overcoming struggling Shifnal by 16 runs.

In a game reduced to 28 overs a side, Shifnal earned seven bonus points after finishing on 161-8 in reply to the home side's 177-6.

Smethwick's total was boosted by 64 from skipper Vikram Sodhi – and six penalty runs for a slow over rate. Kuldeep Diwan took 3-19 for Smethwick.

Penkridge moved a step closer to promotion from Division Two with a six-wicket win over Whitchurch (117).

The Pillaton side are now nine points clear of Attock in second place and will go up if they beat them this weekend.

Laeq Chishti (3-9) and Muhammad Murad (3-33) did the damage for Penkridge before an unbeaten 70 from Mo Hassan saw them ease home in 21 overs.

Struggling Halesowen gave their survival hopes a boost after beating Attock by 57 runs.

Skipper Faisal Shahid (65) and Will Fraine (52) saw them to 240 all out and Mahroof Azam took 4-32.

Mid-table Brewood lost by one wicket in an extraordinary game at Water Orton.

Cameron Fox's side crashed to 9-6 before a stunning 139 from Bruce Thomason somehow steered them to 190 all out.

All the early damage was done by Water Orton's Lesroy Irish who finished with 6-16.

But despite the drama, Water Orton scraped home thanks to 50 from Gary Crouch.

Stourbridge mustered just 54 all out – and 22 of those were wides – as they lost by seven wickets to Eastnor. Jabran Khalid claimed four wickets for one run.

Fordhouses' three-wicket victory at Penn means they need nine points from their last two games against Stratford and Sutton Coldfield to avoid relegation from Division Three.

Aatif Ali took 4-27 as Penn struggled to 143 all out but Fordhouses held on.

Milford Hall (148) crashed to a seven-wicket defeat to Stratford with Paul Hollinshead scoring 46.

Streetly's two-wicket win at Quatt kept them in the promotion hunt and relegated their Shropshire hosts.

Sam Bates took 4-27 and Farid Ullah 3-39 for Streetly, who clinched victory through Matt Hinton (62) and 56 from Bates.

Hawkins (104) lost to Astwood Bank (251-8) by 147 runs.
