Cannock's Ed Kilbee on MCC duty for a tour of Far East
Cannock CC batsman Ed Kilbee was today preparing for his first game in the Far East after being selected in the MCC squad to tour Singapore and Malaysia.
Kilbee, 26, has joined a squad of 13 which will be led by Bob Baxter and captained by ex-Lancashire batsman Mark Chilton.
The party are currently in Kuala Lumpur and will play five games in an action-packed tour, starting with a 50-over match against Malaysia Cricket Association tomorrow.
It's a game which will kick off a five-game round-robin tournament between MCC, Malaysia Cricket Association and Singapore Cricket Association, with the top two sides meeting again in a final on Sunday.
The tour will finish with the showpiece 50-over match against Singapore Cricket Club at Padang Cricket Ground, before an evening reception.
Kilbee, a former Marlborough College student, joined Cannock during last season but was unable to help prevent relegation from the Birmingham League. He previously played for Goatacre in the Wiltshire League. Kilbee played Minor Counties cricket for Wiltshire and has featured for Worcestershire seconds.
