Himley held their nerve to take the honours in the Black Country Floodlit t20,
.
The hosts won a dramatic bowl-out against Stourbridge last night after rain had washed out the scheduled final.
After four superb nights of cricket the weather intervened with the sides sharing the £1,000 prize money but Himley claiming the JW Brandrick Trophy.
Five players from each side bowled two balls at the stumps with honours ending even at two all. A sudden death shoot-out followed with Himley's Ryan Brown finally ending proceedings in the home side's favour with the decisive hit.
The weather may have had the final say but it failed to put a dampener on a hugely successful competition that saw Himley, Stourbridge, Brewood and Wolverhampton do battle for the main prize with the Staffs Clubs League and Worcestershire League serving up a thrilling inter-league clash.
"It was a shame that we had some rain last night but we managed to battle through and the bowl-out provided some excitement for the spectators who braved the elements," said organiser Greg Wright.
"We are delighted with how things went. The event has been a big success. It's been a fantastic week with some brilliant cricket and exciting games.
"The four sides competing for the trophy were pretty evenly matched while the clash between the Staffs Clubs and Worcester County League produced a great game of cricket. I think everyone who came down, the players and spectators, enjoyed it and that's what matters.
"This was the third year we have staged the competition and I think this one has been the best of the lot."
