Chris Eubank Jnr gave up the crown rather than fight Langford on Saturday October 22 citing an elbow injury,

But promoter Frank Warren has pressed on with efforts to get Langford his shot, with Sheedy now given an opportunity.

The battle for that belt remains as the two clash at the Motorpoint Arena in Cardiff, on a BoxNation-televised card.

'Speedy Sheedy' won an eliminator against Redditch's Andrew Robinson on a points split decision to move into position for a challenge.

Langford is already in possession of the Commonwealth crown, but has vacated the WBO Inter-Continental title.

The 27-year-old was born in Bideford, Devon, but has settled in Birmingham, striking up a rapport with West Bromwich Albion.

The Premier League club regularly show their support for him through their media channels and allow him to use their training facilities.

He's ranked No 2 by the WBO and is unbeaten with a flawless record of 17 wins from 17 bouts, containing six stoppages.
