A date for dinner with world champ Kell Brook
Reigning world champion Kell Brook will be the main event of a sportsman's dinner in Birmingham next Saturday night.
The current IBF welterweight boss will be the feature attraction of an evening at the Holiday Inn Queensway,
'Special K' has been on the sidelines with a bruised rib, which ruled him out of his third title defence against Diego Chaves last month.
That fight is still in the pipeline, as could be a Battle of Britain blockbuster against fellow Englishman Amir Khan next summer.
The hard-hitter from the famed Ingle gym in Sheffield is one of 11 reigning British world champions, including interim title holders, but is arguably the most marketable.
His last fight, against fellow Brit Frankie Gavin, headlined on Sky Sports Box Office earlier this year and he's considered a jewel in the crown of promoters Matchroom.
The night, sponsored by Cannock's R & S Dry Lining Services will also see him reunite with Darlaston's Stuart Elwell.
The former marine knows first hand what he can do, having been stopped in two rounds of a British title fight to a young Brook six years ago.
Former foe Gavin has a place on the top table, as does fellow Brummie and former Commonwealth champion Don Broadhurst.
British welterweight titlist Sam Eggington, from Stourbridge, and Rowley Regis' Jason Welborn, a former challenger, will also attend.
Standard tickets range from £45 to £65 and include a three course meal. VIP passes, which include a meet and greet and front row seats, are £100.
There will be photo opportunities, a raffle and an auction. The dress code is smart casual, with doors opening at 6.30pm.
The after-party will be held at the Grosvenor Casino on Broad Street, who are showing the world heavyweight title fight between Tyson Fury and Wladimir Klitschko live.
