Anthony Joshua back in the West Midlands

Britain's next great heavyweight hope Anthony Joshua will be back in the West Midlands for a public speaking engagement next Friday.

The towering Londoner will be the feature attraction at the Norfolk Hotel on Hagley Road in Birmingham,

And posing the questions will be another world beater in Telford's former WBC super middleweight champion Richie Woodhall.

The two wowed the crowd at Scott Murray's Bar Sport in Cannock last month, in what was Joshua's first time addressing an after-dinner audience.

The rising star, still just 25, is making huge waves as a professional after winning an Olympic gold medal at his home-town London Games.

'AJ' has knocked out 14 straight opponents since first punching for pay and no one has been past three rounds with him in a pro ring.

He boxed in Birmingham, too, this past May when he dug out a hammer of a right hand out of nowhere to finish off Brazilian Raphael Zumbano Love in two.

He's in training for his next fight on December 12, where he will take on old amateur nemesis Dillian Whyte at the 02 Arena in the capital.

The vacant British title and Joshua's WBC International and Commonwealth belts, the latter which he won in just 97 seconds against Gary Cornish in his last bout, will all be on the line.

Many boxing insiders believe that Joshua will soon soar to undisputed world champion status and become the best heavyweight the country has ever seen.

Former WBC world welterweight champion John H Stracey will be the master of ceremonies while British champions Sam Eggington, from Stourbridge, and Wayne Elcock are due to attend.

There will also be photo opportunities, raffle and entertainment from a comedian on the night, with some areas already sold out.

Tickets, which include a sit down meal, start from £29.50. For more information, call promoter Ken Purchase on 07976 842 383 or go to www.boxfroguk.com.
