Floyd Mayweather Jnr is coming to Walsall
Boxing superstar Floyd Mayweather Jnr has tweeted he's coming to Walsall - and is set to pick up a cool £100,000 for two hours work.
The Express & Star can reveal it's likely to come off in the middle of next month, but the last of the contracts have yet to be signed.
Promoter Spencer Brown plans to put on the night in conjunction with R'n'B All Stars Entertainment, who have a direct link to the man himself.
Mayweather has said he's planning to tour, but he was due to do so last year and backed out when a rematch with Marcos Maidana came up.
He's now pencilled in visits to the West Midlands, Leicester, London, Manchester, Newcastle and Glasgow, plus dates in France and Belgium.
His price to be booked for the night has doubled, after quoting interested parties £56,000 in 2014 before the Manny Pacquiao super fight.
That proved the highest-grossing contest of all time as it drew $300million, as he eased to a convincing but dull points win over his fellow modern-day icon.
Brown said: "I wouldn't predict anything until he's actually here, but I would expect this to be the biggest public-speaking boxing show that's been held in the West Midlands."
'Money' will be protecting his legacy in the ring this weekend, as he aims to make it 49-0 with what's regarded as his last fight.
The 38-year-old steps through the ropes with Andre Berto at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas on Saturday night, with the bright lights of the West Midlands to follow.
Mayweather is widely regarded as the most elusive fighter on the planet, having been in there and prevailed with the best for all of his career.
'Pretty Boy' is one of the biggest boxing draws Vegas has ever attracted, with the Berto test his 12th straight fight to take place at the Grand.
He's now on his way to England, having broke the nation's hearts when he handed Ricky Hatton his first defeat in 43 fights with a 10th round stoppage.
