Carl Froch heading to Cannock
World champion boxer Carl Froch is to appear at a Cannock sports bar, organisers have revealed.
The four-time super-middleweight champion will give an after-dinner speech at Bar Sport's Premier Suite in June.
The date is to be confirmed but the venue's owner Scott Murray has announced that former two-weight world champion Nigel Benn will also appear at the Premier Suite on April 23.
Mr Murray said: "This is a huge coup for Cannock and Bar Sport's Premier Suite. Carl is a superb fighter and is at the peak of his powers. He has been involved in so many exciting fights. We are really looking forward to bringing him to Cannock. A window of opportunity has come up and we are delighted he has said yes. Now we are just fixing a date in June."
Froch is one of four legendary fighters being lined up this year for the venue. Roy Jones Junior is being lined up to appear in September and Marvin Hagler in November.
