The former Midlands and International Masters welterweight champion came a cropper to English title holder Bradley Skeete last month.

'Fierce Pearce' travelled to London to face the highly-rated Skeete, who also holds the WBA Inter-Continental crown, and was halted in the third round by a right uppercut.

He's now lost a third of his pro contests in an up-and-down paid career but continues to be game, with a tune-up fight scheduled before he chases the big names again.

The 29-year-old will box a four-rounder at the Cannock Chase Leisure Centre on Saturday October 4, with the search now on to get him matched with a live opponent.

He said: "I am buzzing to be back in action. Boxing Bradley Skeete was a great experience.

"He's one of the hottest prospects in the country right now and it was a privilege to share the ring with him. I thought I held my own until he caught me with a great shot.

"Now I am ready to get back out there and get myself back in the mix for a title. This is a perfect, local, tune-up fight for me."

Coseley's Jamie Gelder will now also feature on the show, having been paired with Stoke's Mark Till for a super middleweight contest.

Tickets, priced at £30 and £50 ringside, are available by calling 07891 263 167.
