Ricky Hatton in the ring for Birmingham night
Ricky Hatton will again be top of the bill when he comes to Birmingham for a sportsman's dinner at the city's Norfolk Hotel next month.
'The Hitman' is now an accomplished after-dinner speaker, with a blend of story-telling and cracking jokes that's sure to raise laughs aplenty.
The 35-year-old will be back in the ring at the Regency Suite, on Hagley Road, on Saturday May 17 as there's also live boxing on the night.
The multi-time world champion's much-storied ring career brought him British, WBU, IBF, IBO and WBA 'super' light welterweight titles.
When Hatton sampled defeat for the first time in 2008, he was sharing a ring with one of the pound-for-pound greatest in Floyd Mayweather Jr.
Manny Pacquiao knocked him out in two rounds a year later, before a count out loss in 2012 to Vyacheslav Senchenko made him hang up his gloves.
The fighters from Box Clever, former British middleweight champion Wayne Elcock's club, will entertain Hatton and the audience in competitive bouts.
Tickets start from £35, which includes a three-course Indian meal. They can be purchased by calling 07976 842 383 or from www.boxfroguk.com.
