Chris Male v Troy James back on at Walsall

Cradley's Chris Male and Coventry's Troy James will revive their British super featherweight title eliminator and switch the contest to Walsall Town Hall.

The two were due to stage the bout last month but Male pulled out with a calf injury. James was set to box on but suffered illness, with the show later cancelled.

And now it will be Walsall Town Hall rather than Dudley's the Venue that the fight will now take place on Saturday November 16, alongside a full title showdown.

Stafford's Rob Hunt and Stourbridge's Steven Pearce will go toe-to-toe for the British Masters welterweight crown, with both having experience of battling for a belt.

Hunt has had to climb back into title contention after losing to Ben Lawler for the same belt in 2010, while Pearce held the Midlands crown for nearly two months earlier this year.

Two exciting scraps, first with Derby's Luke Gallear and then with fellow Stourbridge fighter Sam Eggington, saw him win and then lose that status and he hasn't boxed since.

Hunt, without the plaudits, has far experience after turning pro way back in 2006 has boxed 21 times, appearing in January's Prizefighter in a unsuccessful effort to Mark Thompson.

The 27-year-old bounced back with a win over Birmingham's Andrew Patterson last month, scoring a knockdown on route to a points win, and hopes for a second victory at Walsall Town Hall.

Stafford's Grant Cunningham, the undefeated super middleweight from Moss Pit, competes on the undercard as he does Stoke's Andy Keates, a tough lightweight.

Elsewhere on the bill, Tipton's Lee Glover competes before watching Male and James with interest, as he's another prospect from the Midlands area who feels he should be in the mix.

'The Tipton Slasher' competed for the first in nearly two years, after defeat in a featherweight Prizefighter, at Walsall Town Hall last month and gets another run-out at the same venue.

Walsall's Christopher Keane, the Midlands cruiserweight champion, is also set for action as he plots a road to the big belts later this year.

The show is completed by two debutants in Lennox Clarke, a super middleweight from Halesowen, and Tipton's Ainsley Ratcliffe.

Flyweight Ratcliffe steps up to the paid ranks after winning Midlands titles in the novice and junior ABA competitions, as an amateur for William Perry ABC in Tipton.

Tickets, priced at £30 and £60 ringside, are available from the Town Hall Box Office on 0845 111 2900. The after-show party is at the Pitch Sports Bar and Grill on Bridge Street in Walsall.
