Allen took referee John Latham's points decision by a round, 39-38, after four rounds at the Bowlers Arena in Manchester against home boxer Collins.
The 43-year-old last had his arm raised some 54 pro contests ago, last stopping Baz Carey in two rounds at the Leofric Hotel in Coventry on Saturday 8 November 2003.
Now, after his 133rd time in a paid ring, Allen is a winner again and shows no signs of hanging up his gloves, as he edges closer to a century-and-a-half of pro bouts.
