The 'Fighter of the Decade' for the 1990s - as voted by the esteemed Boxing Writers Association of America - will be in the Black Country on Saturday May 18.

The four-weight former world champion remains the only boxer in history to start his career as a light middleweight and go on to win a heavyweight title.

In his heyday, the American won IBF belts at middleweight, super middle and light heavy, along with the WBC and WBA light heavy belts on two occasions.

Jones stepped up to win the WBA heavyweight title in 2003 and nearly completed the set, but lost an IBO world title shot to Danny Green aged 40 in 2009.

Now 44, Jones has yet to officially hang up his gloves and has also tried his hand at a rap and acting career, appearing in hit film the Matrix Reloaded in 2003.

Black Country fight fans will get the chance to meet the man and listen to his stories in an interview conducted by former WBA world champion Richie Woodhall.

Telford's Woodhall and Jones met in the ring as amateurs at the 1988 Olympic Games in Seoul, South Korea, where the Brit got bronze after a points defeat.

There will be bronze, silver and gold tickets on the night - costing £49.50, £75 and £100 depending on the location of the seat - all with a three-course meal.
