The 23-year-old light middleweight boxes on the same bill as the welterweight battle for the belt between Walsall's Joel Ryan and Derby's Luke Gallear.

'The Style' will make it 5-0 as a professional if he can defeat Burton-born Jimmy Price over four rounds next Friday night and is also still looking for his first stoppage.

But Spencer is growing as a pro and shut-out former area title contender William Warburton on points last time out, having first turned paid fighter in November 2011.

And the Shaun Cooper-trained prospect admitted he's keen to further his experience with his first pro bout away from his home area.

He said: "I'm really looking forward to getting back in there, I haven't been in the ring since I beat Warburton back in November.

"I want to be busy this year. I have only just turned 23, I have got plenty of time and I want to do things the right way.

"I want to build myself up and develop as a fighter. I'm on a winning streak, at the moment, so long may that continue.

"I have never fought at Burton Town Hall but I'm told there's a cracking atmosphere there. I'm looking forward to the experience."

Teenager Price, now boxing out of Swadlincote in Derbyshire, is something of an unknown quantity having competed in just one pro fight so far.

The 19-year-old drew with fellow debutant Chris Jenkinson in Preston last September and Spencer will be looking to "suss out" his opponent on fight night.

He said: "I don't know much about him. He's had one fight and drew that, so he's a bit of an unknown. I won't be going in there all guns blazing.

"I'll suss him out first and then work on my game plan. I'm at that stage of my career when I just need ring experience and to build my record."

Tickets for the Errol Johnson-promoted show in Burton are priced at £30 unreserved seating and £50 Ringside. They are available from the Town Hall Box Office on 0128 350 8547.

Doors open at 7pm, with boxing commencing at 8pm.
