Rob Hunt gets Prizefighter call
Stafford's Rob Hunt has landed a spot on the Prizefighter homecoming at Wolverhampton Civic Hall this month after Karl Place pulled out.
That left one place in the eight-man, one-night, three-rounds-a-fight tournament on Saturday January 19 at the Civic, which will be live on Sky Sports.
Hunt joins Stourbridge's Steven Pearce, Birmingham duo Nasser Al Harbi and Calum Cooper, Mark Thompson, Dale Evans, Glenn Foot and Chad Gaynor.
It's a second chance for Hunt as he was turned down when the show was organised by Matchroom Boxing, but Place's withdrawal with injury has opened the door.
The 27-year-old welterweight has one of the best records in the line-up with 16 wins, one loss and two draws over 19 contests since turning professional in 2006.
A sixth-round stoppage loss to Ben Lawler in November 2010 dented his momentum and Hunt will see this as the chance to finally get his career back on track.
