Dudley's Ryan Aston was today paired with Curtis Valentine for the vacant Midlands middleweight title on the Sky Sports bill in Sheffield next month.

Aston's first title shot will take place on the undercard of hometown hero Kell Brook's IBF International title fight against Carson Jones on July 7.

'Tank' meets Valentine at the Motorpoint Arena in his first attempt at a pro crown, for the belt vacated by Leicester's Martin Concepcion.

Nottingham's Valentine has one fight less paid experience than his co-challenger and has lost twice in six contests, on points to Alastair Warren and Erick Ochieng.

But the 31-year-old is a puncher with three stoppages from his four wins, with only Ryan Clark able to go the distance in that streak.

However, unbeaten Aston has also come into power over his seven straight victories with three KOs in his last four contests, two in the first round.
