Chris Truman in English title frame

Aston's Chris Truman was today waiting to discover whether he will get a shock crack at the English light welterweight title against Lenny Daws.

Truman has already agreed to box an eight-rounder against the two-time British champion at the Magna Centre in Rotherham on February 18.

But the two fighters are now waiting to hear whether the British Boxing Board of Control will approve their bout as for the vacant English crown.

'The Trumanator' had already landed one title shot, against Midlands light welterweight champion Dave Ryan in Burton on March 31.

But the 27-year-old could now see himself fight for a national belt for the first time, with the show set to screened on Sky Sports.
