St Georges' hopes hinge on title clashes
St Georges believe their double-header against new leaders West Brom FSC could decide the Summit Garage League Premier Division.
The Baggies bowlers dislodged the Telford side from top spot to go five points clear.
St Georges bounced back with an 8-2 win against Greville Arms just a week on from losing to the same opponents 9-1.
But West Brom are top thanks to a 9-1 thumping of Windmill.
St Georges captain Glyn Picknell was delighted with the turnaround but happy to look further ahead in terms of the title race.
Picknell said: "West Brom have had a brilliant run but we've still got to play them home and away in the next month.
"As long as we carry on picking up points, those games against them could be the deciding factor.
"We've got King George V at home and away in our next two games then West Brom home and away so we've got a really tough run.
"West Brom have had a couple of big wins away from home. They're quite deservedly top."
He earned the most valuable player award for his win to five over Peter Dunkley, while Michael Wainwright eclipsed that with his 21-3 victory over Dennis Herbert.
Picknell said: "I played very well on Monday night and so did Mikey, but we all did."
In seventh spot, Castlefields beat Chadsmoor A 7-3 to close the gap on their fifth-placed opponents to five points.
Paul Williams took the plaudits for a 21-3 success against Peter Cookson while there were also wins for Clay Flattley, Keith Walton, Callum Wraight and Andy Duckett.
