Former Huddersfield manager Lee Clark is reportedly leading the race to succeed Chris Hughton as Birmingham City boss.

The 39-year-old is set for a second interview with St Andrew's officials as they look for the man to lead a Championship promotion campaign next season.

Clarke is believed to have edged ahead of main rivals Roy Keane and Phil Brown with another leading contender, former Blues midfielder Alan Curbishley, said to have ruled himself out.

Blues are also planning a meeting with the Football League in the next few days in the hope of seeing their current transfer embargo lifted.
