'Not done yet': Morgan Rogers issues defiant message after Aston Villa's Champions League defeat at PSG
Aston Villa may face a huge task to overturn a 3-1 deficit against PSG - but Morgan Rogers insists Villa are not backing down from the task.
Villa were on the ropes early on in Paris - but Rogers popped up with an unlikely goal against the run of play to stun the home side.
But three top class goals, including a cruel late third have left Villa with a mammoth task heading back to Villa Park next week.
However, Rogers insists there are no cracks in Villa's belief, stating that being at home will be key and Unai Emery's side have more than enough quality to cause a shock next week.
He told TNT Sports: "We have the quality in there, we are here for a reason not just to be spectators.
"We are here to compete, to fight, to score goals and to win, we have the quality in that dressing room.
"We are back at home that we know that is our best platform and we will be looking forward to it.
"We have loads of belief, we have nothing to lose.
"No one had us to win the tie in the first place, so why not go for it.
"That is my mentality, the players and the manager's and we have the quality to do it, it is not done yet."
Villa had just 25 per cent possession on the night in Paris and aside from Rogers goal, only had one other meaningful chance of note that came from the wide man.
They had to defend deep and show discipline but were caught out by some top class finishing from the home side - who are many people's favourites to win the competition for the first time.
Rogers insisted his side did compete and were not just turning up to be spectators - but PSG have showed recently why they are arguably the best side in Europe at the moment.
He added: "Yeah it was difficult, they are a really good team, well organised with stars all over the pitch.
"We knew it was going to be a fight and a defensive battle.
"There was quality overall and maybe there were some errors and we could have prevented the goals, but that is football and we have the next leg to turn it around.
"We will go for everything and try and win the tie
"We knew it would be difficult coming into it. We've seen in the last few games how deadly they are, they have put the world on notice.
"We did not want to be spectators, we wanted to compete and we did for large parts, we scored. But things didn't go in our favour."
