An adult ticket price will cost £37 - a 23 per cent increase on the £30 Coventry supporters were charged to attend Albion's 2-0 win at the Hawthorns in the reverse fixture in December.

In addition, young adults and seniors are expected to pay £32 while under-18 tickets have been priced at £25.

The Express & Star understands Albion requested for Coventry to lower their prices considering away supporters paid £30 at the Hawthorns - but they declined.

In contrast, adult tickets have been priced at £31 for the Baggies' trip to Carrow Road to face Norwich City this weekend, with seniors and young adults charged at £21 and £16 respectively.

Coventry's announcement has received backlash from a number of Albion fans on social media.

One fan posted on X: "Why are Coventry charging us those prices when other clubs are charged £30 adults, £18 juniors."

"£37 for Coventry and £25 for under-18s. £62 plus booking fees for me and my daughter. Ridiculous pricing," another Albion supporter wrote.

Another fan added: "There really needs to be a spend cap on away tickets in the Championship, £37 for a ticket at Coventry is extortionate."

The cost of away tickets has been a topic of debate for many years, with the Football Supporters' Association (FSA) setting up a campaign called Twenty's Plenty in response to rising prices in 2013.

Twenty's Plenty called for a £20 cap on the price of a ticket for away fans at all levels. The Premier League agreed to maintain a £30 cap, which has been in place since 2016/17, but is set to be reviewed this year.

Albion travel to Championship play-off rivals Coventry on Saturday, April 18.
