High profile names such as Louie Barry, Morgan Rogers and Finn Azaz are players who have been moulded at Albion but gone on to bigger things elsewhere.

There are Albion graduates who have been given their chance closer to home, with Tom Fellows the best recent example of a player who has made an impact on the Albion first team.

Prior to that Alex Palmer was one of the shining lights to come through, show patience and grasping his opportunity when it came.

The spotlight has been on the Baggies' goalkeeping department since Palmer's shock deadline day departure for Ipswich Town, with understudy Joe Wildsmith handed the nod in goal as he battles with recalled highly rated youngster Josh Griffiths.

However, they aren't the only two who could be battling for that place in the sticks in the coming years. As well as producing Palmer and now Griffiths, Albion also have other talented shot stoppers in their ranks, who look set to be the next top talents to make their way up the ladder.

There is excitement within the club with regards to a number of the youngsters coming through the system. But who are the next generation keepers who could become the future Alex Palmer?

Josh Griffiths

Big things are expected of the Hereford born keeper, who has been at Albion since the age of 10.

The 23-year-old already has over 150 senior appearances to his name, following loan spells with Lincoln, Cheltenham, Portsmouth and most recently Bristol Rovers.

Already capped at England under 21 level, it is felt that it may only be a matter of time before Griffiths, who has made ten senior appearances for Albion, will become the club's number one keeper.

Ted Cann

Brought in from Liverpool's academy in 2017, Cann will be a name familiar to Albion fans having been around the first team set up for some time.

He has been involved in travelling squads regularly over recent years, having been sent out on a number of non-league loans.

Cann was handed a contract extension last year - and is out of contract in the summer, although the club have a one year extension option on his deal.

Ben Cisse

A big talent coming through the ranks.

Cisse has been at Albion since the age of nine, and has continued to impress academy staff in his rise up the age groups.

The keeper was one of the first of Albion's second year scholars to sign professional terms in May 2024, with that deal running until next summer.

He broke into the club's under 21 side last season and as well as impressing his club coaches, his stock has continued to rise at international level.

He has represented England at under 16, 17, 18 and 19s level, while also joining the England under 20s end of season trip to Croatia in June.

Cisse has been in and around the Albion first team squad at the club's training base - and has just gone out on loan for the first time, joining non-league Alvechurch.

Ronnie Hollingshead

Another name who has been around in the Albion academy for some time is Hollingshead, who has currently out on his latest loan spell with Alvechurch.

The Wales young international is out of contract this summer, having penned a two and a half year deal in early 2023.

He already has other senior experience, having spent time at Hednesford Town, and was previously a regular on the international stage for Wales under 18s and has been involved in the under 21 set up too.

Joe Wallis

One of the latest recruits in the Albion academy is Wallis, a New Zealand goalkeeper signing from Auckland City back in September 2024.

The 19-year-old, who came through the youth ranks with Auckland Western Springs, was brought in on a two year deal with an option of a third in the club's favour.

He has gone straight into the Albion under 21s side, having already played a lot of senior football back in his home country.

The youngster is another with international experience, having made his under 19s debut for New Zealand last year, before being involved in the under 20 set up.

Louis Brady

Further down the age groups and the international caps continue with Brady, who became a scholar in 2023.

Brady jumped up the age groups to join Albion's under 18 side - and has already represented the Republic of Ireland at under 19 level last season.

Liam Wilkes

Another youngster in the under 18s is Wilkes, who became a scholar Albion last summer.
