Mia back in the ring after her winning debut
Mia Holland (1-0) looks to build on her victorious professional debut as she steps back into the ring in her hometown of Wolverhampton at the Hangar Venue for BCB Promotions’ March Madness show this Saturday night.
The 20-year-old flyweight has had a busy few months. As well as beating Klaudia Ferenczi in November, the four-time national champion, Tri-Nations champion, and Boxcup medalist was nominated for the Midlands Area Female Prospect of the Year. Now, she's eager to prove her mettle once again on a stacked card.
Her debut win against the vastly experienced Slovakian was a shutout over four rounds, with Holland having to box patiently against her defensively-minded opponent.
“I really enjoyed getting in there for the first time," said Holland. "When you put in that much work in the build-up, my adrenaline was high.
"It was unusual getting used to the pace of the fight, as it was much slower than in the amateurs, and she was really tough. I kept my jab going and did what I had been told to do, and Richie was happy.”
Holland, who honed her skills in the amateurs at RG Box in Wolverhampton, has been diligently preparing for this fight under the guidance of her coach, Richie Ghent. Her training regime has incorporated rigorous sparring sessions and focused technical work to ensure she’s in peak condition come fight night.
“I only had four days off after the fight, and I was straight back in the gym and started working towards my next one," she added. "It’s been a good eight-week camp. I have been out of the gym to spar Shannon Ryan and worked on what I can improve. I’m excited to get in there on Saturday and have a busy 2025.”
The March Madness card boasts a wealth of talent, including Queensbury Promotions’ Ben Fail (8-0) and heavyweight Joe Bourne, as well as BCB’s Ollie Cooper (9-0) and Ryan Woolridge (11-0). Jack Finlan (1-0), Brandon Bethell (4-1), James Griffiths (7-0), Cory O’Regan (13-0), and Jack Wyn Roberts complete the exciting line-up.
Final remaining ticket are available now, priced at £45 or £80 for VIP. Tickets can be purchased directly from the boxers or by emailing info@bcb-promotions.com
