The Baggies were forced into a backs-against-the-wall after the break mainly due to Darnell Furlong's controversial red card on the stroke of half-time for an alleged raised elbow. Mowbray called the decision "really harsh" and has confirmed Albion are set to appeal any subsequent suspension.
Mowbray drafted his troops into a deep defensive block for the second period and despite QPR's dominance of the ball the West Londoners struggled to create many efforts on Joe Wildsmith's goal of note.
