Non-league previews: Tividale find a rich vein of scoring form

Tividale manager Phil Rann had nothing but praise for his players, as they made it 13 goals in the last four games during fightback at Whitchurch Alport, writes Dan Hickey.

After a run of five games without scoring, Rann credited his side’s mentality and familiar line-up with the sudden rush of goals – Jordon Sangha has scored six for Tividale in a run of 13 goals across their last three matches.

They lost 4-2 to Alport on Tuesday, narrowly missing out on a chance to make it 3-3 at one point, after netting eight across back-to-back wins against relegation-rivals Wolverhampton Cassies and Highgate United.

Rann said: “After two, a lot of teams would have folded. But we didn't. We carried on going. We did well, to be honest.

“And then at the end, Jordon Sangha’s had a chip and he's just gone inches past the post, which would have made it 3-3.

He added: “The performance off the lads was brilliant. Could have could have folded at 2-0 and gone 3-0, 4-0, but we didn't. Got back and we were in the game. So, credit to them.

“If you aren’t up for it now, you go down, don’t you?

On the sudden rush of goals, Rann said: “Thirteen goals – couldn't buy a goal before! It’s one of them. I just think players who hadn’t been scoring, starting to score now.

“We did move players a couple of positions which gets them further forward. I hope it keeps going, to be honest. As long as we keep scoring, we’ve got a chance.”

With their next game on Saturday (3pm) against Studley, Tividale will need to keep up their goalscoring form have a chance of going four points clear of the drop zone.
