The 31-year-old, who came through Albion’s youth system, made more than 100 Premier League appearances in blue and white stripes - scoring 23 times.
But his time at The Hawthorns will forever be soured by his public spat with chairman Jeremy Peace after he failed to secure a move to Tottenham Hotspur.
Eventually, Berahino left Albion when he signed for Stoke in January 2017, for a fee of £12 million - rising to £15 million due to potential add-ons.
But his career has never got back on track after unsuccessful spells at Waregem, Charleroi, Sheffield Wednesday and even most recently when he signed for Rajasthan United in India but never played a game.
And speaking in an interview with SportsBoom, Berahino admits he has regrets.
“I 100 per cent have career regrets,” he said. “If I could roll back the years, I would have listened more to the people around me, especially my handlers.
“Sometimes I would take their advice, sometimes I couldn't. The lack of a support system to guide me didn't help my case as well.
“Footballers should shun the culture of cutting through the corners. Young players should be encouraged to trust the process and build their careers day by day."
