Non-league previews: 'We can still win this league' says Kidderminster boss Brown
Phil Brown still believes Kidderminster Harriers can win the National League North after his side stopped the rot and returned to winning ways midweek.
Harriers entered their clash with fellow play-off contenders King's Lynn Town last Tuesday with just one win in their previous seven league games and having lost two in a row.
But, Kyle Morrison and Reece Devine netted to supply Brown's side with a much-needed victory to revive their title challenge.
Morrison re-signed for the club midweek while Kidderminster also welcomed former Port Vale and Shrewsbury Town midfielder David Worrall.
Boss Brown was impressed with the pair and is upbeat ahead of his side's trip to strugglers Farsley Celtic tomorrow with them sitting nine points adrift leaders Chester with two games in hand.
Asked if he believes Kidderminster can win the division, Brown said: "Yes, very much so.
"I don't want to set too many targets that we can't achieve and take each game as it comes, and I think that we have been getting head of ourselves to a certain extent, but on Tuesday we steadied the ship again.
"Yes we can achieve something this year if we play the kind of football that we did against King's Lynn. And, that's down to levels confidence, down to levels of consistency, and down to me and Neil MacDonald to try and get that out of the players as often as we possibly can.
"Tuesday was a real pleasing performance from a football side more than anything else. The character of the team was spot on and I think that was down to the two lads we signed.
"Kyle knows his way around the National League North and he knew half of the changing room.
"And, I worked with Dave Worrall at Southend before, and then lost him to Port Vale. I was disappointed when I did lose him and I thought at some stage that I would work with him again.
"On Tuesday, he came to our rescue as it were after two 3-1 defeats. We needed a win and to get that balance back."
Harriers narrowly beat Farsley at Aggborough in the reverse fixture last November and will be targeting the double and to secure back-to-back wins given their dire form.
Farsley are winless in their last ten league matches and have lost seven in a row, conceding 22 goals.
But, Phil Brown insisted it is still a "tough fixture" for his side.
"They are fighting for their lives, their budget has been slashed to smithereens," he continued.
"It is tough on them but at the end of the day we can't feel sorry for the opposition. We have got our own battles to face and to win.
"Whether it be at Buxton or Farsley we are going to take them on and take them on in the same manner that we took on King's Lynn on Tuesday."
