Morecambe defender Rhys Williams was shown a straight red card for hauling down Jamie Jellis five minutes after the restart and Taylor Allen crashed a spectacular effort in off the post from the resulting free-kick.
Jellis doubled Walsall's advantage with an unerring finish from the edge of the box three minutes from time and Sadler felt his side controlled the game throughout the contest.
He said: "It was a professional performance. I thought from start to finish it was barring maybe a five-minute spell towards the end of the first half, we completely controlled the game.

"It's a terrible pitch. I don't know why the lawnmower is on the pitch now because there's no grass on there. (That affects) both teams of course but it was really difficult to get any real football into the game.
"We handled that really well. It was pivotal after the sending off, we scored straightaway. Talk about that double jeopardy, it made it that for them, and that was important for us because on the pitch it's really difficult to build anything.
