The Midlands rivals are fighting it out at the top of the National League Northern Premier Division, with Forest clear of Wolves at the summit by three points.

Wolves have lost just once this season, against Forest, while their opponents on Sunday are unbeaten in 15 league matches.

Due to the discrepancy in funding offered to both teams, McNamara says Forest will be expected to win, as he takes pressure off his side ahead of a potential upset.

“We will prepare for the game as we normally would," the head coach said.

“It’s a big game but, should we be going there with any kind of hope of winning? I’m not too sure.

“Obviously we will think that, I believe in this group as I always do, but we shouldn’t be competing.

“With just seven games to go, we have got a real chance, everyone is doing their job superbly well.

“There is no pressure on us, we go there and will do what we do, if we get a positive result then that will be brilliant.

“There is still a very good Burnley team and a very good Stoke team, I think it would be disrespectful for people to say this is a title decider.

“The table doesn’t lie, but my players aren’t interested in looking at the league table at the minute. There is still a hell of a long way to go.

“Seven games, and whoever wins those seven games of football will probably go and win this league and rightly so.

“We will go there, and it will be an upset if we can get something from the game, it will be an upset.

“They haven’t lost yet this season, but we will go there full of confidence and see what we can make happen in the game.”

Following their FA Cup defeat to Manchester United, Wolves bounced back in midweek with a 4-0 win over local rivals Sporting Khalsa.

"It’s nice to get back to winning ways, this group is not quite used to losing," McNamara added.

“We made sure we were professional - we needed to be professional and do the job and get out of here.

“Everyone got on the pitch and we got some good minutes in the tank, everyone is feeling fresh ahead of what we would describe as the playoff game on Sunday.

“I thought we could’ve been three or four nil up at half-time, but we didn’t, which was disappointing.

“We kept at it, and I thought the second half changes really impacted the game.”
