Walsall, who still boast a seven-point lead at the League Two summit, have gone five games without a win, prompting calls for Sadler to shuffle his pack.
While wholesale changes is not the answer, it does feel as if new blood needs to be injected in order to breath new life into the Saddlers' title push.
Tommy Simkin is likely to remain between the sticks but there is a big call for Sadler to make in defence, after Evan Weir impressed in the absence of the suspended Taylor Allen in the 1-1 draw against Gillingham on Tuesday.
Allen has been an ever-present for Walsall this term but has looked a little out-of-sorts of late, so it will be intriguing to see whether he is immediately reinstated after serving his one-match ban.
Connor Barrett, Ryan Stirk and Liam Gordon also appear to be playing on empty tanks and look in desperate need of a rest.
