Hosts Millwall find themselves in the bottom half of the Championship but still part of the cluster who are on the coattails of those rivals chasing a top six place.
Tony Mowbray will plot how to line his side up at the end of a busy, three-game week - which often signals changes are likely.
Albion also need to improve on the display in front of their home supporters, where Blackburn were clearly the deserved winners having got the better of the Baggies in most departments.
Ahead of the clash at The Den, here is the latest situation around Albion's availability.
Kyle Bartley - suspended
The influential centre-back serves the second of his three-match suspension following the red card after full-time against Sheffield Wednesday last weekend.
Bartley is sure to be a miss for the Baggies down in London. Boss Mowbray stressed Albion missed the dominant stopper's presence in midweek against Blackburn, where the visitors scored from a corner.
Bartley will miss the Millwall clash and the home game against Oxford on Saturday week before he returns to contention away to Leeds on Saturday, March 1.
Semi Ajayi - hamstring
Ajayi returned to the bench on Wednesday against Rovers but remained an unused substitute. He completed 45 minutes for Albion's under-21s against Newcastle on Monday night.
Mowbray told the Express & Star afterwards that Ajayi, who has been sidelined since October after surgery on his hamstring, is well enough to be considered - and added the Nigerian's height could be a positive factor against Alex Neil's Lions.
Karlan Grant - illness
Grant missed the clash against Blackburn with a serious chest infection. He started the previous contest against Sheffield Wednesday last weekend.
But the attacker was spotted among his team-mates at Albion's training ground on Friday morning ahead of training, with the team set to travel to London later in the day prior to the 3pm kick-off.
Daryl Dike - hamstring
Striker Dike played a 30-minute cameo in the under-21s clash this week but Mowbray has said he will not be considered for a return to contention against Millwall.
Richard Beale's under-21s are in action again next Monday, against Wolves in Kidderminster, and Dike is likely to have another run-out.
The striker could be in line to make a return against Oxford next time out, on Saturday week, more than a year after his Achilles injury.
Tammer Bany - fitness
The Danish attacking midfielder sealed his £3.3million move to The Hawthorns on transfer deadline day at the start of this month.
He was in the middle of pre-season in the Danish Superliga with his previous club Randers and arrives with little match fitness and sharpness.
Bany, 21, is not yet ready to feature for Albion, Mowbray confirmed this week after talks with the fitness staff. It remains to be seen whether he will be considered for a part in the under-21s side against Wolves on Monday - where Bany would not be classed as an 'overage' player - and whether he will be ready for contention to face Oxford.
