The Spurs youngster signed for Albion the week before the end of the transfer window - and became only the twelfth striker to join Albion on loan from a Premier League club since 2001.

Some of those who made a temporary switch to Albion hit the mark - but others failed to make the grade.

Jonny Drury has had a look back at the last eleven strikers that joined Albion on loan from a Premier League club.

2024 - Callum Marshall (West Ham) - 3 games, 0 goals

Marshall was the last striker to arrive on loan from a Premier League club, as he made the switch from West Ham in January 2024.

It was his first senior loan but it was clear he was not ready for the Championship.

His loan spell as cut short after just three appearances, as he returned to the Hammers.

2021 - Jordan Hugill (Norwich City) - 20 games, 1 goal

Arriving from Norwich having had some high profile moves, there was an expectation the Premier League forward could be useful.

It did not turn out that way.

Hugill missed a number of key chances in games and bagged just once.

He was due to be at Albion for a season but his loan was cut short midway through the campaign.

2018 - Dwight Gayle (Newcastle United) - 41 games, 24 goals

When it comes to loans from Premier League clubs, Gayle sits at the top of the tree for many Albion fans.

His partnership with Jay Rodriguez was blistering and if it wasn't for a leaky backline, Albion would have stormed the Championship that season.

Such was his impact at Albion, there was a consistent rumour mill linking him with a return to The Hawthorns for many seasons that followed.

But it never materialised, and Albion fans had to settle for reminiscing about some of the glorious goals he scored back in the 2018/19 season.

2018 - Daniel Sturridge (Liverpool) - 6 games, 0 goals

If there was a category for a signing that had high hopes but failed to deliver, Sturridge would be filed under it.

The England and Liverpool international, who had formed such a potent partnership with Luis Suarez at Anfield, arrived with Albion in the midst of a relegation battle.

Could he scored the goals to help Albion survive? No. In fact, he hardly played enough games to make an impact.

He featured just six times as injuries ruined the move and he returned to Liverpool and Albion went down.

2021 - Romelu Lukaku (Chelsea) 38 games, 17 goals

Up their with Gayle, Lukaku's time at Albion will be forever remembered among the fanbase. He netted 17 times, and along with Shane Long and Peter Odemwingie, scored the goals that helped the Baggies to their highest ever Premier League finish.

He almost returned the following season before he was stolen away by Everton on deadline day, but he will be forever etched in the memory of Baggies fans.

2011 - Carlos Vela (Arsenal) 8 games, 2 goals

This goal record won't blow you away - but those who remember the goals will still saviour them.

Arriving from Arsenal, Vela had the perfect debut as he came off the bench to rescue a point against the old rivals Wolves in the Black Country Derby.

A few days later he did the same against Stoke. They rescued two vital points and although they were his only goals, they made huge impacts in Albion's fight for survival.

2008 - Jay Simpson (Arsenal) 17 games, 2 goals

Arriving in January 2008, a young Simpson was tasked with trying to find the goals to help Albion survive.

He had enjoyed success on loan at Millwall but it didn't materialise in the top flight.

He managed just two goals as Albion were relegated back to the Championship. He went on to have a decent career in the EFL and overseas, but it didn't quite work out at Albion.

2007 - Ishmael Miller (Manchester City) 40 games, 16 goals (deal made permanent in January

A loanee who made an instant impact was Miller.

Signed from City, the powerful, raw striker hit the ground running and formed a formidable partnership with Kevin Phillips.

He made such an impact that Albion made the move permanent in January.

Although he showed signs of being able to mix it in the Premier League following promotion, he was struck down by a knee injury.

That would be the story of his career as injuries eventually took the their toll as he slipped down the leagues.

2001 - Danny Dichio (Sunderland) 3 games, 4 goals (joined permanently in November 2001

Back in 2001, Gary Megson signed the big forward to help with a promotion push.

Danny Dicho's loan move to West Brom was quickly made permanent

A short term loan saw him net four goals, before Albion forked out over £1m for his services. He would score key goals during the famous 2001/02 promotion winning season and remained at the club for two further campaigns.

2001 - Trevor Benjamin (Leicester City) - 3 games, 1 goal

It won't go down as a memorable one but journeyman Benjamin came in for a short spell in the 2001/02 promotion winning season.

A lot of Baggies may not remember it, but on paper he left with a ratio of a goal every three games - although he only played three games!

2001 - Uwe Rosler (Southampton) - 5 games, 1 goal

Remember this one? As short term loans go, this was short. The former Man City man arrived at Albion in 2001 on loan from Southampton, as cover for Scott Dobie.
