There has not been nearly enough last-gasp drama at The Hawthorns, or indeed at any game involving Albion, for far too long now.
Tony Mowbray's first two home fixtures back at the helm have been rather contrasting but together they have yielded a maximum six points.
You can keep your 5-1 hammerings - this was drama of the highest order.
OK, big-scoring routs are also welcome. A also a treat not seen often enough under the last couple of managers.
As history tells us Mowbray's Albion knows how to win big. They know how to win late, too.
The deafening din inside The Hawthorns as Jayson Molumby - the brilliant pantomime villain - struck in minute 96 and when referee Tom Nield blew the full-time whistle had not been heard for some time.
It was a shame, but no surprise, several thousand had decided to head for the exits early. They had decided at 1-0 up, and then probably when Sheffield Wednesday struck in minute 93, to try to beat the traffic.
And what they missed. Part of Mowbray's mission for the weeks and months ahead will be to demand more attacking and hopefully it keeps more supporters in their seats to create such an atmosphere and celebrate together at the end.
